Dragon Lore by plantiebee Dragon Lore by plantiebee
Follow me on Facebook! or my dragon will eat your first born ;) [link]

This is my second painting for the super cool artist group Enchanted Visions [link] in which I painted the monthly theme Dragon Lore chosen by the wonderful :iconaruarian-dancer: :)

I kindve went a bit overboard considering my time limit, but I wanted to add alot of symbolism into this painting for the chinese new year, Year of the Dragon, and what I wanted it to bring for me.
Its a bit long winded, so if you want to read my inspiration for the painting be sure to check out my blog post on it :D [link]

Yip, I need to do some research into photo'ing trad paintings, I've seen some people do it and they manage to eliminate the flash glare, or they take it in even natural light.. it's something I need to look into.. when I'm not busy real life crap.. lull.. No worries, I really liked the drawing on your painting too =)

It's gorgeous!
I love the symbolism and all the little details you added but what I like the most is the color you chose for the dragon.Very smart to go for light blue instead of the usual green or black,it really makes the painting stand out :)

haha how funny you say that, i really regretted choosing blue (i wanted it to be a yellow dragon) but stuck with it - i am really glad you appreciate it as it was a pain in the rear end to shade :P
